PDX-VM: Additives for cement vertical mill

DESCRIPTION

  • Vertical mill is a technology well known for its efficiency in grinding clinkers, raw materials, slag, etc.
  • The grinding process in a vertical mill requires the use of water (up to 3%) to decrease the vibration. The addition of water may cause pre-hydration, leading to the negative impacts on setting time, compressive strength and workability of the concrete.
  • Prodexim has developed new formulations of PDX-VM additives specifically for vertical mills, with lower water use and less vibration.

PDX-Cr: Cement Cr(VI) reducer

Additives for the reduction of chromium (VI) to less toxic chromium (III)

TYPICAL DOSAGES AND APPLICATION METHOD

PDX-Cr should be used at dosage rates of 0.2% to 0.5% by weight of cement, or between 2000 and 5000 ppm (grams per metric ton) relative to the content of Cr (VI) to be reduced in the cement.
The optimum dosage rate should be determined by measuring the levels of soluble Cr(VI) in thecement during industrial trials.
PDX-Cr products can be added directly to the dry clinker during or after grinding. An adequate dosing system should be used to ensure an accurate distribution of PDX-Cr.

PDX-Silica fume: Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs)

Description

A very fine and very reactive pozzolanic material produced from the manufacture of elemental silicon or ferrosilicon alloys. Silica fume reacts chemically with the free lime in the cement paste to form calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) gel. This reaction is called a pozzolanic reaction where the CSH gel acts as a binder to hold the constituents together and fills the air void structures in the concrete.
